Waterproof sealed N-type connector prevents damage

Amphenol RF is pleased to announce the expansion of its rugged IP-rated N-type connector series to include an additional rear-mounted bulkhead jack. This high-frequency connector is optimized for RG-405, 0.085 and 0.086 inch cable types and provides protection against the effects of temporary immersion. IP67 N-type connectors are very suitable for a variety of applications, such as antennas, base stations, and military communications, where the system may be exposed to external elements related to the weather.

This new rear-mounted spacer N-type connector is made of brass with white bronze and silver-plated beryllium copper contacts. This connector provides reliable electrical performance in an extended frequency range of up to 18 GHz; higher than the conventional N-type connector, which is usually up to 11 GHz. The IP67 N-type connector is a stable waterproof solution with a threaded coupling mechanism to improve vibration resistance.

N-type connectors are ideal for applications that require high power handling capabilities, low VSWR, and insertion loss. The series offers a variety of configurations, and its design can be adapted to all industry standard cable types and PCB versions. The IP67 option has an additional layer of security to protect the integrity of any system from dust and water intrusion.
