Google's not-so-new entry in its Coral Dev Board lineup is finally available to pre-order. Called the Coral Dev Board Mini, Google announced the unit in January. The Dev Board Mini measures 48 x 64 mm and packs a MediaTek 8167s chipset that includes four ARM Cortex-A35 cores and an Imagination PowerVR GE8300 GPU. Also on board is 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC flash storage.

Additionally, there is a Google Edge TPU coprocessor that can operate at up to 4 TOPS when used with a Coral Accelerator Module. The Dev Board Mini can connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, supporting the Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 standards, thanks to its MediaTek MT7668 chip too.

Google has included a micro HDMI 1.4 input for video output, but there is also a 39-pin FFC connector for connecting a 4-lane MIPI-DSI display. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack, a digital PDM and a 2-pin speaker terminal, too.

The Dev Board Mini runs on a Linux distribution called Mendel and has a 40-pin header, making it a possible alternative to the Raspberry Pi. The Dev Board can be pre-ordered from US$99.99 on Seeedstudio.
