MilesTek launches a new series of rugged, Cat6, IP68 cable assemblies

MilesTek is the Infinite Electronics brand and a leading manufacturer and supplier of military and avionics applications. It has just released a series of rugged Cat6 IP68 cable assemblies with metal connectors. They are available in a variety of lengths and connector options, particularly suitable for military, industrial, government, and broadcast applications.

These new components use SF/UTP cables and 24 gauge wires, and are double shielded with foil and braid. This prevents crosstalk and provides EMI/RFI protection and adequate grounding. The FR-TPE sheath of the cable can withstand harsh environments including rain, ultraviolet light, oil, chemicals and welding spatter, and its UL CMX flame rating means you don’t need to be between the rugged performance and the proven combustion rating choose. In addition, the cable is highly flexible and has a continuous movement capability of up to 10 million cycles.

The metal connectors used on the components are pressure resistant and IP68 rated, so they are waterproof and dustproof. Even without a dust cap, the jack version is sealed. Their electroless nickel plating complies with RoHS standards. Available configurations include plug to plug, jack to jack, plug to jack, plug to standard RJ45 and jack to standard RJ45.
