The Raspberry Pi Foundation has introduced three Pico options, the Pico W, Pico H and the Pico WH. While the Raspberry Pi Foundations has announced the trio simultaneously, the Pico W is a little different from the Pico H and Pico WH. Also, the Pico WH will be available at a later date than the Pico W or Pico H.

Specifically, the Pico W and Pico H will be available from today for US$6 and US$5, respectively. In comparison, the Raspberry Pi Foundation will not start shipping the Pico WH until August. Also, the Pico WH will be the most expensive of the three new Pico boards, although it will still only cost US$7.

As the Raspberry Pi Foundation discusses in a blog post, the Pico H and Pico WH contain its new 3-pin debug connector, the specification for which the Foundation has outlined in a dedicated document. According to the Foundation, the Pico W contains 802.11n Wi-Fi, a first for the Pico family, and is pin-compatible with older models. For reference, the Pico W utilises the Infineon CYW43439 via SPI and has an ABRACON onboard antenna for Wi-Fi connectivity.

By contrast, the Pico H and Pico WH feature pre-populated headers, as well as the aforementioned debug connector. Still, all rely on the RP2040 chip, a micro USB 1.1 port and need 5V of power or 1.8-5.5V DC. You can find out more details about the new Pico range on the Raspberry Pi Foundation's website.
