In recent years, I have made two "judgments" on quick judgments. They believe that AirPods will not become a hot product, and MagSafe is looking for a solution to the problem. I was wrong with both of them. AirPods have become hugely popular, and MagSafe has become a key feature that I think we will remember from the iPhone 12 release cycle. Let's delve into what makes MagSafe the future of Apple device charging.

Before MagSafe, I tried to use Qi for wireless charging, but it seemed more trouble than it was worth. If I knock on my bedside table with a pillow, I often wake up in the morning and find that my iPhone is not charging. With MagSafe, once connected, you are already connected.

Lightning provided us with a good service, but the port needs to leave. I dream of a world where the iPhone is as waterproof as the Apple Watch. I believe that once the port disappears, we can get there, and MagSafe is the only option.

MagSafe is a very Apple thing. It takes existing things and makes them better, just like they did with MP3 players, tablets, smart watches, and smart phones.

Ever since I went all out to use MagSafe as my only way to charge my iPhone, I have been upgrading all accessories to MagSafe. Here are some of my favorites:

I currently have two MagSafe batteries. I use ChargeFast batteries and Anker MagSafe batteries. I like to use these when traveling because I don't have to worry about keeping the cable for charging. When I went to Disney World a few months ago, I put both in my bag to make sure I was fully charged all day. Because I am using an iPhone 12 mini, I can put it and an external battery in my pocket.

MagSafe is also the perfect technology for desks. I have been using an excellent dock from Anker, which can keep my iPhone supported during the day, so it is very suitable for authenticating various network services using the Okta iPhone app in my work. There is also a place in the base to put my AirPods on them to keep them charging. It is the smallest and can get the job done. I like how easy it is to pop and pop. I don't have to worry about cutting anything or plugging in cables.

I also like to install MagSafe in the car. Just like my desk, it easily pops up when I get in the car to charge, but grab it quickly when I reach my destination. I currently use ESR's MagSafe compatible Air Vent bracket. It has USB-C on one side and USB-A on the other, so you can charge while driving.

I really hope that Apple will develop the technology to transfer data through MagSafe so that when it is used in the car, you can connect to the wired CarPlay option. When I want to use a better webcam on my Mac, I often use the Camo app, so I prefer to still use it when I connect Magsafe to my Mac.

I hope to see MagSafe integrated into airplanes, hotels, and coffee shops in the future. When Apple announced it, I did not sell it, but it has become the only way for me to charge my iPhone in the past year.
