Hylec-APL introduced TeePlug TH381, a plug and socket suitable for underwater use and harsh environments-including permanent submersion withstands high-pressure water jets (up to 100 bar, 16 liters/min of water, 80°C).

Rated IP68/IP69K, diameter 14mm, can be foreseen to be used in outdoor lighting, such as architectural lighting, street lighting, underwater lighting, road sign lighting and billboards-as well as the connection of internal and external Class 2 electrical equipment.

IP68 waterproof performance can be guaranteed when it is subjected to a bending force of up to 5kg.

According to Hylec, the push-pull design is said to be intuitive and practical in use, with an audible click and preventing accidental disconnection at a force of 25 kg-although according to EN61535, this is 8 kg.

The company stated: "Vibration and external mechanical stress are also okay because the cable traction force is as high as 8 kilograms.

The optional safety system includes the mandatory use of a tool (a flat-blade screwdriver) for disengagement.

There are two poles inside, the rated value is 10A 400V AC or DC.

Can accommodate wires from 0.25 to 1.5mm² without ferrules.

There are two variants: cable-to-cable and panel mounting, and there are two sizes to accommodate the two cable diameters of 5.8-6.9 and 7.0-8.0mm. Cable reducing gaskets can be used for smaller cables, or larger cable glands can be used for larger cables.

Other accessories include: sealing cover, special wrench and rear nut for panel mounting.

Hylec-APL is located in Northamptonshire.
