Nicomatic will showcase the development of its miniature and rectangular connector series for the first time in the UK at the International Defence and Security Equipment Exhibition in September.

The 1mm AMM series connectors are designed for space-constrained applications in harsh environments. Capable of carrying up to 4.8A (PCB to cable, 20-pin at 25°C) or 2.5A (PCB to PCB, 20-pin at 25°C), the miniature connector can withstand 15G vibration and 100G shock. The device can handle up to 1000 mating cycles and can operate between -65 and 200°C.

Five standard layouts with 6, 10, 20, 34, and 50 contacts distributed in two rows can be shipped immediately in deep inventory, and a guide pin is integrated in the design for stacking.

Nicomatic will also launch Optimus, a series of modular rectangular I/O connectors that comply with the EN4165 standard. This kind of thin interconnection solution is user configurable, not only suitable for providing equipment interface connection with wiring harness, but also suitable for being a powerful rack and panel solution.

The modular structure enables designers to specify the layout they require. The connector can be configured with No. 22 signal contacts with a rated current of 5A or No. 8 power contacts with a rated current of 60A. A 90° PCB mounting version is also available. The equipment is waterproof and provides EMI protection.

Nicomatic will use other series, including the 1.27 mm pitch EMM series, which targets defense and other high-reliability applications. The EMM series connector is designed to meet the performance requirements of MIL 83513, and it takes up 40% less space than the company's previous generation connector.

The DLMM connector uses a metalized composite shell, and an integral back shell can be specified to achieve higher shielding and cable connection robustness. The device can integrate mixed signal, power and coaxial cables on two rows of 4-32 pins. The prototype is available in five housing sizes (10, 16, 22, 26, and 32 pins) within three weeks.
