Cliff Electronics announced the launch of a waterproof cable assembly with an irreversible 2-pole plug with a rated current of 5A.

Cliffcon 68 is manufactured by Cliff in Surrey using an internal three-shot injection process. It is an IP68 screw-in ferrule connector that provides a 5m long cable with a tinned bare end for connecting to customer equipment. There is a mating panel socket that can be used for panels up to 3.5 mm thick.

"For many years, we have been supplying overmolded cables, connectors and probes for electrical test equipment OEMs," said Cliff MD John Hall. "This new type of waterproof cable assembly expands our capabilities and provides equipment designers with a simple solution to purchase waterproof connections for their products. They no longer need to purchase suitable plugs and sockets and make reliable waterproof connections. ."

The rated connection-disconnection cycle number of the connector exceeds 500 times.

These connectors can also be used for self-assembly and include versions with 2-9 (except 8) contacts and rated currents between 13 and 3A. Can accommodate 5-8mm cables.

It is expected to be used in agricultural and construction vehicles and machinery, as well as highway lighting, external wireless networks, security camera systems, sports equipment, portable instruments, battery charging and sensor networks.

Cliff test lead kits are manufactured in their own ISO 9001 certified factory and exceed all relevant safety regulations such as EN 61010-1, CE marking and RoHS compliance.
